John Wallace has been
playing stringed instruments for more than 40 years.
Teaching has been a priority for John for nearly 25 of those 40
years. He continues to receive great rewards from his continued
musical explorations, and from the resulting learning experiences.
John actually prefers teaching to performing, although you will
find his name on the roster of many a fiddle contest throughout the
Midwest.
John is available
Thursdays at the Homestead Pickin’ Parlor, where he teaches old-time
banjo and fiddle -- with occasional consultations on mandolin, flatpick
guitar and bluegrass banjo. John
is currently interested in developing cross-over musical awareness (learn
a tune on the fiddle, play it on the guitar), and in the value of a
centered focus between right and left hands on all instruments.
John specializes in
musical instruction for adults and enjoys teaching students at all levels
of playing ability. |
