Gigi uncovered a baritone
ukulele in the closet when she was six years old.
That was all it took. She
graduated to guitar as soon as she was big enough and has been playing
ever since. She picked up a
banjo while in college and added the mandolin to her repertoire when
looking for a smaller instrument to take on canoe trips.
She comes from a family of singers who also play a variety of
instruments.
Gigi
has performed acoustic folk and contemporary music and has appeared in a
variety of choral settings including the Dale Warland Symphonic Chorus.
She has taken a hiatus from performing while raising her two
children, but will return to it when they get a little older.
She has been teaching in a variety of settings for almost 20 years
and enjoys the musical environment at Homestead most of all.
She is a skilled teacher and is able to meet the needs of the
students of all ages in a positive and productive way. |
